Delicious and Easy Watermelon Margarita Recipe

Watermelon is such a refreshing summer treat. To go hand in hand with my guide on 4 fun ways to prepare watermelon, I decided to complement that article with a fun and refreshing cocktail for mom’s who need some fun! Read on to learn how to make this yummy, delicious watermelon margarita recipe.

Ingredients
  • 1 baby watermelon
  • 6 limes
  • salt (just a pinch)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup tequila blanco
  • ⅓ cup triple sec
  • 3 cups ice
Instructions
  1. Cut the rind from one baby watermelon. Save 4 thin wedges (or cut shapes) to use as a garnish.
  2. Cut the rest of the watermelon into chunks and place them into the blender.
  3. Squeeze the juice from 6 limes and add it into the blender. Reserve half of a squeezed lime wedge.
  4. Add a pinch of salt to the blender.
  5. Blend until smooth.
  6. Add 3 tbsp sugar to a small plate and use the saved lime wedge to moisten the rims of the margarita glasses (4 glasses).
  7. Dip the glasses in sugar to coat the rims.
  8. Strain the watermelon mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher.
  9. Add tequila, triple sec, and ice.
  10. Stir until the mixture is cold.
  11. Strain into the margarita glasses.
  12. Garnish with the saved watermelon wedges.
Notes
TIP: Roll the limes with gentle pressure on the countertop before squeezing to get more juice from them!
